Photo Sessions :: Vanessa, Bobby, & Daisy's Maternity Photos for Brayden

This week I got to work with the sweetest couple, Vanessa & Bobby, who are preparing to welcome the newest member of their family, Brayden.

Can't wait to meet Brayden for their newborn pictures in August and if he is a sweet as their furbaby Daisy I know I will be smitten!

Photo Sessions :: Taylor's Senior Portraits

Life has been crazy lately!  Everything from web design to wedding shoots has been engulfing my calendar.  This is all making routine blogging a bit challenging and unpredictable, but I couldn't resist sharing some of the images I recently captured of the lovely Taylor for her senior portraits.

She is so gorgeous and I hope she has the best senior year!

Buying the Basics

One of the biggest frustrations since switching to Paleo is the lack of essentials here is our town.  Although our town is growing it is still majorly lacking in many areas such as specialty grocers.  You will not find a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods here and the best thing you will get is Raley's (Nob Hill) and their selection still leaves a lot to be desired.  So we must trek over an hour away just to stock up on the very basics of my dietary needs; coconut milk, coconut flour, coconut sugar... while really hoping I don't start hating coconut!

Dress: ModCloth // Shoes: CVS // Earrings: Forever21

It was pretty hot in Fresno so I decided to wear this shorter dress I purchased from ModCloth last year.  This is my first time wearing it as I find it can be a bit clingy in areas I am tend to not be too confident highlighting.  Not to mention, the elements of this dress seem to be a bit confused.  When I snagged it on sale for a whooping $9 (I believe) I wasn't too concerned on whether it was amazing, I more just wanted a cute little dress to add to my closet for pennies on the original price tag!  The fabric is thick, like really thick, which would lend one to think it was more cold weather appropriate, but it's a mini...  and sleeveless...  which doesn't quite add up to warm weather.  Luckily it was a rare occasion where the weather was perfect for it last week and I was happy to finally get some use out of it while stocking up on coconut EVERYTHING!  haha

Covered in Daisies

Dress: ModCloth // Brooch: Vintage // Sandals: Steve Madden

This is another dress I recently acquired from the lovely Kelsi over at the Brightersides Blog.  I wore this last week to the farmer's market and received so many compliments on it's cheery print.  I am not use to wearing any one shouldered garments as I did not own any prior to this dress.  I felt as though I was constantly tinkering with it in fear that it was sliding down without the reinforcement of a second strap.  I did start to get use to it by the end of the night and I have to say you cannot help but smile in such a cheerful print!

Healthy Habits

May has been the beginning of many changes in my daily routine.  I have been working hard to try and treat my body better than I have in the years before.  I have always been a bit lazy when it comes to my health and always seem to rest on the excuse that "people always say I look much younger than I am".  As much as I have begun to appreciate this statement over the years I cannot let it keep me from ensuring it remains as such.
Some of the changes have been small such as using DeeVoo products for my skin.  Currently I am using the Radiant Trio on a daily basis.  This trio of vegan friendly products has been an absolute pleasure and I am so grateful that the fine people behind this brand asked me to give them a spin!  I always seem to put the health of my skin on the back burner as I have never had too many issues with the clarity of my skin.  Since using the Creamy Cleanser, Milky Toner, & Radiant Moisturizer I have already noticed a bundle of benefits.

The redness in my skin has greatly faded.  I always chalked this up to being prone to flushing skin and heat but it's been a rare occurrence since the switch.  I also see that my freckles are softening and although most of my friends would squeal in protest at such a remark, I much prefer a softer appearance in my freckles.  I think when your skin is as fair as mine, those little specks can become a bit overpowering.  On top of these benefits my skin is tighter, more supple, and the skin around my eyes truly seems more... well, radiant!   It's been so nice (as the heat approaches) to be able to go out bare faced or with just a tad of BB Cream!
Another huge change I have made is switching to the Paleo lifestyle.  Most call it a diet but it is such a major change for me that it feels more like a lifestyle adjustment.  It's only been a couple weeks and even with a couple of fails, I am already seeing and feeling the results.  In the first week alone I had already lost 4 pounds, an inch off my waist, and 3/4 an inch off my arms!  I have to admit I am super excited to challenge myself to a whole new world of recipes that Paleo has to offer!

PS If you are interested in trying the Deevoo products for yourself use code "BLOGLOVE" for 10% off.
