Pink Valentine's Cocoa with Marshmallow Cream

Here we go... another holidays mean's another ingredient for me to becoming untiringly obsessed with, at least until I run out!  Being already infatuated with anything pastel it's only expected that I would make this season's target Conversation Hearts.  Here is a sweet & easy treat sprinkled with these little pastel darlings.

Pink Valentine's Cocoa

What you'll Need:

Strawberry Milk Mix
Chocolate Milk/Cocoa Mix
Milk
Marshmallows
Conversation Hearts

Directions:

Place a handful of hearts into plastic bag and crush well
Dip the rim of glass into water then into crushed hearts
Set cup aside
Mix one scoop of chocolate milk/cocoa mix to two-three scoops strawberry milk mix
Poor milk mixture into a sauce pan on low and let heat stirring periodically
In another sauce pan melt marshmallows while slowly adding milk until desired consistency is achieved. Remove from heat
Poor your hot cocoa into your glass
Top with you marshmallow foam and some extra sprinkles if you choose

Be happy and enjoy!

Heart Stamped Shoes :: A Frugal Fashion DIY

I am the type of girl who is always looking for the best deal.  I love sales and, when applicable, DIY fashion.  I adore Toms footwear and love their more unique prints so when I saw the "Hearts" Classics I wanted a pair badly.  Unfortunately, this was not possible as they were sold out.    So when I saw a pair of drug store grey knock-offs, for a whole $6, I thought why not DIY my own heart stamped shoes!

First, let me recommend this stamp making tutorial by A Beautiful Mess, then I will show you the more tedious method I used.

Tutorial Here -----> Click Me!

Now if you are like me and do not have convenient access to a craft store, here is what I did.

What You'll Need:
Shoes (I found mine at CVS)
Fabric Paint
Bamboo Skewer or Tooth Pick
Scissors
Sandpaper

Directions:
If you do not have a flat ended skewer or toothpick, you will need to cut one end to create it
Sand down your cut area so that it is smooth and flat
Dip flat end into paint and press against fabric (I recommend practicing on some old fabric or paper first)
Repeat, placing another circle right beside the first
Using the pointed end of your skewer or toothpick, bring the two circles together by creating a triangle to form a heart
Repeat until you are pleased with the desired placement and overall look

Enjoy and do not forget to still check out Tom's.  They donate a pair of shoes, for every one sold, to a child in need!   How cool is that?

Confused Seasons

The last couple of days have been quite confused.  The weather has been off, causing mass confusion on the Thousand Acre Woods.  We are seeing blooms and bees amongst unseasonably warm temperatures heading towards the 70s.   I feel like this confusion has trickled down, not only into my wardrobe, but my everyday life.  As much as we separate our existence from that of other organisms, it amazes me how much we all seemed influenced by nature and its ever changing presence around us.

I have been getting that cosmic evaluation feeling the majority of this week.  If you have been spared, and not suffered this head spinning mentality, it's where you have this undeniable urge to contemplate your existence and why it is so insignificant in the whole scheme of things.  The worst part is that it's an entry level symptom to the main affliction.  Whether it be elation or depression, within a few hours of giving into the need of self interrogation, you will feel something.  I hate this feeling as mine typically courses into a lot of "why me's" and "what does it all mean's", followed by the desire to hide in the deepest part of my duvet comforter, shunning the light of day .  It's powerful, this mental ailment, like how it seems to know that to gain power it must encourage you (willingly) to hide from the things that will loosen its hold.

With most of my day's work being online and indoors, I have not been partaking in much by means of outside activities.  Today I put on my game face with determination not to be down on life.  Within moments of Armani and I hitting the daylight I could feel my batteries recharging and my spirits lifting.  It's amazing what a little vitamin D can do for the soul.  Just goes to show you how small we really are in this vast world.  As much as we'd like to think our species is above it, we are smack dab in the middle of a very complex universe and we are not the ones calling the shots!
