Crafty Confessions :: Bark Heart Brooch DIY

I love things that are not only inspired by nature but created from nature.  Here is how I made a little heart brooch using a piece of cedar bark found in my front yard.

Select a piece of bark (I used cedar)
Apply a dense coat of mod podge to the outer portion of the bark
Allow to dry
Cut out your heart.  (The mod podge will help make this a easier process)
Apply mod podge to the inner portion of the bark heart.  This will ensure the little wood fragments to not move
Allow to dry
Take a pin back and apply hot glue
Apply to the outer portion of heart and hold

Told you I've been obsessed lately!  Hope you enjoy making your own.
