Photography Confessions :: Christina & Wes the Wedding

So I have officially survived my first wedding as photog.  It feels like only last week since I was capturing photos of the excited couple up at Angel Falls.  Now, here we were, watching them walk down the isle saying their I dos.  Over the past month or so we have begun building a friendship with this free spirited couple and greatly enjoying their newfound presence in our lives.  I had so much fun giggling and sharing tales of love and marriage with the great group of ladies while they primped and I photographed.

(Plus one very excited groom!)

I am grateful that my constant need to stress and analyze was just as overwhelming, as usual, leading up to Christina & Wes' big day.  I didn't go into the day believing I would nail it out of the park or feeling as if it would be a easy breezy sort of event which made me all the more aware of what I was there to do.  Sometimes a little bit a paranoia is a good thing!  It helped ensure I was on my tippy toes and ready to capture all the beautiful moments this wedding held.

It had to be one of the most simply sentimental ceremonies I have ever had the privilege of witnessing. Christina did almost everything, with some motherly assistance of course, on her own.  I kept thinking to myself, "why, didn't she DIY some little tissue bags for the chairs while she was at it?" as there was not a dry eye in the house by the time everything was sealed with a kiss.

Congratulations Christina and Wes!  Thank you for allowing us to share in your special day and for me to capture your memories.

  3. So glad your first wedding was a good experience! I have only shot one wedding and NEVER AGAIN. The bride was a bridezilla, and it's just far too stressful that you're not going to get the right shot.

    1. Oh no! I was so lucky that I have built a good relationship with Christina prior. I think I would have had an anxiety attack had it been a complete stranger! I am so sorry yours was not a pleasant experience... I'd have to say that I am not sure if I will be "specializing" in weddings anytime soon. As great of an experience as it was it was still super stressful! haha

  4. The photos are beautiful! I have been following your blog since Christina told me you would be the photographer at their wedding. I enjoy your daily photos. From what I hear from Wes and Christina, they are also enjoying your new found friendship. Keep up your passion for photography. You have a unique and artistic talent. Ashley, my niece, wants to hire you to take some pictures of her when she goes to Fresno sometime in the future.

  7. How beautiful! I am such a sucker for weddings. I cry when I don't even know the couple well enough, haha.
That photo of the groom cheesin' real hard is so sweet. Christina's heart will probably always be filled with butterflies knowing how excited and happy her groom was moments leading up to their vows. So sweet. Great job, Jessa! I also love your cute "caked" stamp on the photos! It reminds me of confetti! And confetti makes me really happy. :)

    1. You would have been a totally baby at this one then! So touching and sweet. I wanted to keep "Caked" in all aspects of my business and thought Caked Imagery was too cute. Thanks for the kudos... I too love the little sprinkle action! haha

  9. First off I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I've had trouble clearing my mind
in getting my ideas out there. I do take
pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any suggestions or hints? Thank you!
