Can you tell us a little more about yourself and your shop Adam Rabbit?
"My name is Ashley and I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I teach 6th grade special education and am currently pursuing my Master's. Although this takes up the majority of my day, I always find time to be creative. My hobbies and interests continue to evolve, but I have always enjoyed making things.
Adam Rabbit is a brand new Etsy shop. It features handmade and refashioned vintage items. I am excited to see my shop take grow and take shape."
Creativity is a must! What inspires you to create the items found at Adam Rabbit?
"I make what inspires me. Sometimes it is dresses, other times bow ties. I love nostalgia and feeling apart of a different era. Sometimes I will see a color combination and make a mental note of it. This can come from a flower, painting, or label on a product. The continued support from my friends and family also inspires me to take risks and create new items."
Sometimes the most important inspiration in growing a business is to take risk. Have you been faced with obstacles in the creation of Adam Rabbit?
"The biggest obstacle has been creating items that are cohesive. I also struggle with finding enough time in the day to complete everything I would like to."
Time seems to be a struggle we can all relate to. How are you dealing with this common issue?
"Relax. It is ok to let some ideas go, it doesn't mean I failed. I also schedule time to have be creative. As non-creative as that sounds, if I don't schedule it, it will be replaced with another task."
That is great advice! Speaking of advice... any words of wisdom you would like to offer to those attempting to start their own business?
"Go for it! Find what and when you are most inspired and run with it! Some people may tell you, your idea isn't feasible, but what is really important is that you are doing something you love and that makes you happy."
In the end that is truly all that matters! Thank you so much Ashley for taking the time to spread a little inspiration.
