For My Grandma...

Yesterday my Great Grandmother passed away in her home here on The Thousand Acre Woods.  This is bittersweet for us all, as she leaves us, to be with her two children and her husband.  She was faced with a lot of tragedy in her life and I am happy to say her passing was not a tragic one.  As much as I will miss her I am at peace knowing she will get to be with her children now.

Be With Your Children
For Evelyn, My Grandma

All too often we find
this life can be anything but kind

Through suffering and strife
we learn the toughest lessons in life

But for just one soul
it seems too heavy a toll,
more than what's deemed fair
for just one woman to bear

To be robbed of a son
as well as a daughter
to have them ripped away
from both mother and father

She survived a life
most could not
absorbed the hurt
and the message it taught

"Continue to live
come what may"
because she knew life was fleeting
and could be so quickly taken away

Goodbye my Grandma
though this is not the end
I am at peace knowing
you are with your children once again.

Love, Jesse

Thank you for all the well wishes and kind thoughts you've sent our way.  They mean the world to us all, here on The Thousand Acre Woods.

Yes, she took a turn for the worse on Tuesday. We were all with her Wednesday night then she passed Thursday morning. It was sudden which saddens us but we are also grateful she did not suffer in her final days. Thank you for the all the love on Twitter today Isabel. xo

  8. What a sweet and lovely poem, Jessa. It beautifully illustrates what a strong, loved woman she was. I can't imagine the wisdom and strength she took with her to the afterlife and I'm happy to hear she was surrounded by loved ones on her exit out of this world. Hugs to you and your family. xo

  11. Oh, Jessa I'm so sorry. But the bright side of death is the reuniting with our loved ones that have passed on. I'm sure your grandma is already having the time of her life up there, with her family. :) And that's the only way that I can look at it to even get a smile out of myself when I lose someone. Knowing that one day I'll see them again.
You have a beautiful way with words, Jessa. Your writing/poems are always so heartwarming and lovely to read. God bless you! <3

♥ Thanks for commenting! I truly appreciate each comment I receive and nothing brightens my day more than reading your thoughts!

xx Jessa
