Design Confessions... Yahoo Email Custom Signature Tutorial

I have always wanted a pretty little signature to appear at the foot of my email communications.  Nothing super fancy but pretty none the less.  Unfortunately, simple just doesn't seem to be in my vocabulary when it comes to graphic design concepts.  I wanted something functional  but yet different

I love the look of having all of my little social media icons located below my signature.  Not only are they just darling but it allows for easy navigation directly from your correspondences.  Here is a tutorial for installing an email signature with social media icons using Yahoo Mail Classic.

Step 1.

Step 2.

Step 3 & 4.

Select the "Show a signature on all outgoing messages" option

Step 5 & 6.

You will need to upload your desired images onto an online hosting site first.  Once uploaded you can copy and paste the image directly into the signature formatting area.

Step 7 & 8.

After you have added your links to all icons they should be surrounded by a blue or purple outline.  Do not worry about this showing on the recipients side.  This is just to indicate that the link has been applied to the image.  AKA it means you're all good!

Step 9.

Click "Save Changes"

That's it!  You now have a delightful and easy to navigate email signature.  Hope you have fun creating your own.

Love & Lollies...

  4. beautiful!

it's also worthwhile copying the html and putting it on your phone as a signature too. Particularly if you're like me and use your phone for everything!

I've never thought of linking pictures before. So simple but looks so effective.

  6. I love the signature thingies too at the bottom of emails and this sewing one is cute! Unfortunately, I don't send too many work related or profesh emails anymore. Just relatively informal ones...all too often. haha
But this is worth saving for when I'm sending out 50 emails a day again. :) Cute idea, Jessa! Those icons are adorbs.com

  12. Hi Jessa,
Great tutorial, but I have to know where you have your images uploaded to? I have mine through Photobucket for a friend who uses Yahoo! Webhosting, but it's not working. I'm a web designer, so I'm quite interested how you got yours to work and where your images are uploaded to! Thanks!

    1. Hi Lisza! I also use Photobucket and haven't experienced any issues. As a back up plan I also have a flickr account but I rarely use it for storing my graphic design elements. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance in this area! xo

    2. Weird! Thanks for letting me know. The one thing I will tell you is that the signature area images of your instructions look very different than her setup, but that shouldn't make a difference. Out of curiosity, would you just confirm please if you are using the HTML tag, or one of the other tags? Thanks again, and I appreciate you sharing the info with me. : )

    3. And you know, I'm curious to know if anyone is having issues with Yahoo stating "the length of the image name is too long" or something along those lines. So annoying. Thanks!

    4. No, I haven't. How strange. I am still using their "classic" mail though. Not sure if that makes a difference or not?
