This summer has been a harsh one on The Thousand Acre Woods. Summer sprinkles have been nonexistent leaving the land parched and brittle. As we prepare for the autumn season to approach we find that we are praying for rain in fear of the risk of wildfires consuming our land. Looking back I find it all the more concerning...

It is amazing how just a couple rainless months can have such a huge impact on the earth around us. Here is hoping this dry ground is soon to be a thing of the past.

Wow. This post is both beautiful and tragic. Well, I never thought I would say this (I tend to resent rain), but I hope the rain returns to liven up the earth!

ReplyDeleteSo lovely!
ReplyDeleteIf only you could send a little of that water this way... both our problems would be solved! =D Hope your rain moves this way soon! xo
ReplyDeletehaha Well thank you for calling for it on our behalf! xo

Omg, Jessa! I can't believe how much it's changed in such a short amount of time! The befores and afters make me so sad. There's so much happiness and life...and green, to the left and barely breathing life to the right. :( I'll pray for some rain for you, hun. Being the self proclaimed Rain Queen I am, I think I might have some pull. ;) Sending lots of love.
ReplyDeleteAnd here we've been having perpetual Spring instead of Summer. :( I hope you get rain, soon! But a little bit at a time, so the ground can absorb it instead of everything running off.
ReplyDeleteWe've had quite a good balance here this year, and I don't think we've had any fires on the mountains so far (touch wood) because of it. Shall keep my fingers crossed it rains for you! x
ReplyDeleteA good balance can make all the difference! Thank you for the crossed fingers. xo
ReplyDeleteSo true! That is the last thing we need. Thanks for the rain wishes. xo
ReplyDeleteWow. What a stark difference. We've just finally got some rain in Oklahoma. I'm so thankful for it.
