Sweet Peek of the Week... Silver Fox Gems Interview & Giveaway

This week we have the pleasure of getting to know Ashley of Silver Fox Gems.  Silver Fox Gems is the home of fine jewelry that provides every ensemble with effortless elegance.  Each piece is hand designed and made with love and passion by Ashley herself.

Let's get to know this lovely gem artist a little better with our interview questions.

Ashley, can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and Silver Fox Gems?

"My name is Ashley and I'm 24 years old. Silver Fox Gems was born out of my love for interesting and eclectic jewelry that can't be found in a giant chain store or in a jewelry store. It came to me one day while talking with my boyfriend about how unsatisfied we were with having desk jobs that did nothing to relieve all of the pent up creative energy we had. I decided I wanted to quit buying cheap costume jewelry and make something truly special, not just for myself but for others as well. Silver Fox Gems was born!The name comes from the silver fox, a gorgeous and intelligent creature that wears a stunning coat all year long, which is how I wanted my jewelry to be: elegant, yet perfect for every season!"

I can definitely see where the initial inspiration came from!  What continues to inspire you?

"I am continually inspired by nature, which is where I get most of my designs. I'm hoping Mother Nature never gets tired of me stealing her ideas! Other than that, I am continuously inspired by people with boundless founts of imagination and creativity. I was lucky to be the daughter of one of those such people. My mom is always working on something, always improving something, and always onto the next thing. I don't think I'll ever reach that level of energetic activity, but it gives me something to aspire to!"

 Mother Nature never fails to inspire!  Have you been faced with any obstacles in the creation of Silver Fox Gems?

"My biggest obstacle was just committing to maybe-probably-sorta starting a company! I'll admit that I was scared that perhaps I was getting into something over my head, or that I was going to fail at it."

I think we've all felt that before!  How did you overcome those fears?

"I let go of that fear of failure and just went for it! It's also the attitude that I stick to when showing others my jewelry. You never know how people will like it until you just try."

That is great advice for others!  Any other words of wisdom you'd like to share with us?

"Take risks! You never know how far you'll go until you take the first step. I will admit that it's easier to take risks when you're doing something you love, so don't for get to do that, too, and most of all: have fun!"
