Last weekend was intended to be spent yard sailing and thrift raiding but the weather was not working in our favor. We came across sign after sign stating "canceled due to rain" which led to me throwing a brief hissy fit. After a momentary pouting season and some smile negotiating on Christopher Robin's part we decided not to let the clouds rain on our parade and find another way to spend our Saturday morning alone. It seems all too rare that Christopher Robin and I have these precious moments away from the hustle and bustle to just relax and laugh. We parked and debated alternate locations until finally settling on one we had not visited in sometime. Only a mile down and a make shift cross bridge away was our new destination...
With the last month being upward of ninety degrees on a daily basis the lush greenery is already becoming a thing of the past on The Thousand Acre Woods. Luckily Mother Nature was still dressed in her finest green hues down by the creek bed. With the bubbling creek as our soundtrack and vegetation as our back drop we enjoyed the cool crisp breeze.
We decided to travel a little deeper into the thicket when an all too familiar sweet scent caught my attention. I had to investigate the origin of the aroma... if only I could get there...
After clearing the fallen tree and trekking another few feet we found our source... wild mint!
What an amazing discovery at this time of year! Perfect for making Memorial Day Organic Mohitos I may add! Yay Mohitos!
Hope everyone had a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!
