Me!
I thought I'd share a quick tutorial on how I made these little delights just in time for the Easter weekend.
What you'll need...
♥ White Cake Mix
♥ Cream Cheese Frosting
♥ Chocolate Frosting
♥ Cupcake Papers
♥ Green Food Coloring
♥ Mini Chocolate Eggs
♥ Ziplock Bag
Mix your cupcake batter as specified on the box. Feel free to make your favorite white cake recipe instead.
Bake as indicated in directions...
Let cake cool down to room temperature.
Taking your cream cheese frosting and combine in a bowl with green food coloring. Start with a few drops and continue adding color until you are happy with the hue.
Apply a thin layer of green frosting to your cupcake.
Next, you will want to take a ziplock and cut the tip into a star like shape. (Sorry for lack of photo for this, I used a decorating bag) Be sure not to cut the hole too large or it will distort the shape. Fill your ziplock or decorating bag with chocolate frosting. You'll want to apply your chocolate frosting in a swirling motion starting from the middle and working your way out. Apply another layer just on top of the outer rim of the swirl to create a nest like appearance.
Last, apply three mini eggs inside the nest and there you have it! Nest Egg Easter Cupcakes!
These are so cute and easy and everyone will think you spent hours in the kitchen. I promise this won't be the case... unless you need over a hundred!
Enjoy!
