Loving One's Self

In the beginning of the week I was contacted by a photographer in regards to scheduling a photo shoot in a neighboring city.  I having been buzzing with excitement until this morning when I woke up finding myself extremely insecure.

In high school I always felt out of place and out of touch with the world around me.  I traveled from group to group looking for the confirmation that I never could seem to find.  Here I am now, years later, pondering the same insecurities.  I do not look like the models on the covers of Vogue or Elle and do not have a build that will ever grace the pages of Shape.  But over the years I've come to embrace my flaws and work with those I have the power to change.  As time passes we learn techniques and survival skills to become more self aware and self loved.  Somedays these tricks work in correcting and unhealthy thought process while other days you're left feeling hollow and powerless.

But sometimes, usually when you need it most, something walks into your life as a simple reminder that you are worth it!  I opened the Facebook page to see this...

"Pretty, pretty, please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than... you are perfect, to me..."
This sweet little message came from a darling group of gals who believe we should all feel like dolls and believe that we are prettier than Barbie.  Go show these girls some love and keep the circle going.  It's a beautiful little movement!
